Guided Tours of Palácio da Cidadela de Cascais (Cascais Citadel Palace)

Wednsday to Sunday | 2:00 pm - 8:00pm

Cascais Citadel Palace Av. Dom Carlos I
2750-642 Cascais

Closed for more than 50 years, the Palácio da Cidadela de Cascais (Cascais Citadel Palace) opened for the first time in November 2011 after a renovation of the entire building, along with the Capela de Nossa Senhora da Vitória (Chapel of Our Lady of Victory) and the exterior spaces. The renovation project, designed by the architect Pedro Vaz, sought a balance between respect for the architecture and materials of the era and the needs of comfort, contemporary functional requirements and current regulatory requirements.

Apart from an interpretive tour of the Palace, visitors can browse through the state rooms of the Palace, the chapel of Our Lady of Victory and the former bedroom of King Luís or the Arab room, which served as an office to President Craveiro Lopes. This is a unique initiative that seeks to present a wealth of great significance, thanks to its history, architecture and its prime location in the bay of Cascais.

The visits take place in groups of up to 10 people and are accompanied by a Museum technician.
